Ladies, you know that your family deserves the best. If you’re in the market for a safe, reliable, and affordable van, the 2015 Honda Odyssey may be just perfect for you. This preowned EX-L model has only slightly over 64,000 kilometers to its name but is ready to take on more with you.

Driving.ca rated this Honda the best minivan you can buy. The reviewer was impressed with the vehicle’s 248 horsepower and 250 foot-pounds of torque, as well as its V-6 engine and six-speed transmission.

Thanks to copious storage space, the Odyssey is sure to meet all of your family’s needs. It offers 148.5 cubic feet and has a 60/40 split in the third row that folds all the way into the floor. This minivan can accommodate three booster or car seats, so all of your little ones have plenty of room.

You’ll be safe on the road in this Honda, which offers rear parking assist, a camera, blind spot monitoring, and LaneWatch technology. Anti-whiplash front head restraints also keep you secure.

If this wonderful preowned vehicle sounds like the perfect fit for you and your family, get into your local Island Honda dealer today and take a test drive.
An amazing deal such as this one won’t last long, so get your 2015 Odyssey EX-L now!

2018 honda fit sport for sale courtenay duncan bcIf you’re in the market for a new or preowned vehicle in Duncan or Comox Valley, BC, you’ve come to the right place. Car buying can be tough for women for a variety of reasons. We are trained to believe that we know less about the auto industry and how things work under the hood. Many people, men and other ladies alike, believe this, as well. Age is also a factor. If you are both young and female, walking into a dealership is often very intimidating.

I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t need to be. Here are several tips for ensuring a pleasant and productive car-buying experience.

1. Do your research. Don’t expect to stroll into a dealership with limited background information and walk away with a fantastic deal on your next vehicle. You’ll need to arm yourself with specs and prices. It pays to know how much people are paying in your area for the cars you’re looking at.

2. Expect respect. Island Honda is one of many dealerships whose sales staff are courteous and respectful, no matter who you are. If you have experienced less than this anywhere in the past, don’t go back. It’s that simple.

3. Take as long as you need. I once took a guided test drive that was essentially only around the block. Make sure the salesperson you are working with knows about your commute and the type of driving you’re used to so you can mimic it while out on the road.

Ready to stop in for a test drive? The 2018 Honda Fit Sport is a fantastic vehicle just begging to be taken out for a spin. Hurry in today!
If you’re anything like me, you love cars. The way they shine after a wash, how they smell when you first drive them off the lot, and especially how much you know about them. Isn’t it a great feeling when you can rattle off a long list of specs about a vehicle? I love surprising others around me with this sort of information.

I say surprise because let’s face it: many people don’t expect women to know that much about the auto industry. However, we commute, make repairs, and drool over beautiful new sports cars just like our male counterparts.

At the moment, I’m currently obsessing over the latest Honda Accord LX. As you might know, it was the 2018 North American Car of the Year. Clearly, I’m not the only one who loves it!

The Accord LX has 192 horsepower and 192 foot-pounds of torque--that’s nothing but thrilling. Imagine racing down the highway (within the speed limit, of course) in such a vehicle. Yes, please!

I also appreciate the elegant interior of the Accord, which features leather seats and connectivity for any device you could possibly wish to use. I really love the 105.6 cubic feet of space in this year’s model, because I like to pack my vehicle full.

To take a test drive of this awesome car, stop by your Island Honda dealer today. If you’re anything like me, you’ll love every minute of it!
honda civic for sale nanaimo duncan bcLadies: who has experienced the following while shopping for a car?

-Being talked down to, as if you know nothing about vehicles
-Being ignored
-Having a salesperson speak only to
your husband, father, or brother
-Feeling trapped or manipulated

The sad truth is some dealerships don’t train their sales team to treat women properly during the car-buying process. At Island Honda, we think that’s unacceptable. According to the Chicago Tribune, female shoppers are more inquisitive and crave a sales experience that lets them talk about the features of a vehicle. As ladies, we need to feel listened to so we can be comfortable asking the right questions.

Island Honda is all about catering to your needs. We are happy to answer any and all questions you might have, and we’ll take as much time as you need to make you feel comfortable and satisfied. Women love cars, know the auto industry, and spend just as much time on the road as their male counterparts. It’s time to elevate your car-buying experience.

If you’re ready to test drive a new Civic or Odyssey, stop by your Island Honda dealer today. One of our friendly, courteous salespeople will be ready to help you find the car of your dreams!
car buying for women nanaimo duncan bcAfter many years of driving hand-me-down cars, it was finally my year--time to buy my own vehicle for the first time. I was nervous, not knowing quite what to expect at the dealership. Horror stories from friends and family about pushy salespeople made me anxious. I researched as much as I could ahead of time and even arranged for a private loan.

What happened when I went
in to shop was another story. I knew I wanted to test drive a specific vehicle. I come from a family loyal to the brand, and that year’s model was feature-laden. Deep down, I knew I was ready to leave that day in a new car. I didn’t want the salesperson to know that, though!

After a very brief test drive during which I found myself wondering “shouldn’t this be longer?,” I learned virtually nothing about the vehicle. Negotiations with the sales department were awkward; I told them the price I was willing to pay and they pushed back harder than I was ready for. I stood firm, though. When I went to sign the paperwork, I was talked down to and confused, ultimately signing up for services I didn’t want.

Granted, this was a long time ago, and I was young. But there’s a moral to this story. Never, ever let anyone treat you like a buyer who doesn’t know what they want or
need. Tell the salesperson when you’re done with the test drive. Don’t stop because they tell you to. Be prepared to walk away from the sale, no matter how badly you want the car. And stand firm to your service agreement and loan decisions. No one can make you do anything!

Fortunately, at Island Honda, there aren’t pushy salespeople. Women aren’t talked down to or manipulated. If you’re in the market for a new car, we’ll be happy to make the buying process comfortable for you. Stop in today and let us help you! Ladies, you deserve better!

http://islandhonda.ca/women-auto-trendsBack in 2016, the Japanese government decided it was time for more women to get the high-level business positions that they deserved. Their goal was for 30% of the nation’s corporate leadership roles to be filled by women by 2020. We’ve got two years to go, but Honda Motor Co. started right away.

Asako Suzuki was Honda’s first female senior executive. She worked her way up the corporate ladder and was internally promoted to her current role.

In 2014,
Hideko Kunii was the first woman named to Honda’s board of directors. A technology expert, she studied at San Jose University and the University of Texas at Austin and previously worked for the Japanese electronics company Ricoh. She is now in charge of promoting gender equality at the university in Tokyo.

The auto industry is a space where women belong, period. You deserve to feel confident and excited during the car-buying process and every day when you’re out on the road. The more strong female voices we have at every level, from Honda executives to mechanics to sales, the better the future of every woman’s vehicle experience.

We’ll help find what you need on your terms at Island Honda. Stop by today. We can’t wait to serve you!

Welcome to the first Island Honda Women in Auto Trends blog post! If you’re here, you probably already love cars and want to learn more about your next one. Buying a vehicle can be a different experience for female drivers--we have unique needs and our wish lists are not always the same as those of men. We’re here to tell you that we’re committed to catering to your specific goals and to providing the kind of sales and service you dream of.

Even though it was traditionally considered a more “masculine” hobby, so many women adore cars. There’s just something about the guttural oomph of an engine’s roar and the rush of driving with the top down on a summer’s day that makes it hard not to fall in love. We get it. We’re
exacly like you in that regard.

Honda runs smoothly on the expertise and great communication styles of trailblazing women in the auto industry. All the way from the company’s top executives to the sales associates at our dealership, we are focused on you and what you need in your next car. No matter your age or life stage, we’d love to help find what you’re looking for.
